Mutton gravy/Mutton Kuzhambu

Mutton kuzhambu or mutton  gravy is one of the common sunday recipes in my home. This is so simple and does not call for any roasting or grinding. That being said, the deliciousness of the dish is still lipsmacking as we add the mutton stock to make the gravy along with indian spice powders. This mutton gravy can be had with white rice, roti, dosa, idli, chapati, naan and the list goes on as you like it! Mutton Leg Soup

Aattukal soup or Paya is what we call spicy watery soup made with mutton legs. Yum it is - and it has got a list of medicinal values, to name a few, to cure from cold and runny nose, improves bones strength, relief from chest congestion due to cold, cures sore throat. Mutton Chettinad Gravy

Mutton chettinad gravy is one of those chettinad delicacies down from TamilNadu. The chettinad style involves cooking the mutton/chicken/veggies in the richness of raw garam masala like cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, fennel seeds along with the spices like cumin seeds, coriander seeds, red chillies, black pepper powder. Needless to say, onions especially the shallots/pearl onions play a vital role in giving the gravy consistency and tomatoes too.
