Kalakand

Kalakand is in my wish list for almost a year and today i got a chance to prepare it at home. Wow ! is the word to describe it. In my childhood days, i had eaten lot of this sweet in particular without even knowing the name of it. All i knew is it is a milk based sweet  and i ask for more :) The condensed milk pack was specifically bought for making kalakand but i happend to have the condensed milk as a breadspread for few days in a row. So before i finish it off with just bread slices, i wanted to make the kalakand recipe and share it here. Hope you give it a try and share your valuable feedback. Paneer/Cottage cheese is always made once a week and i store it in my fridge as i like this protein rich vegetarian food and there are a list of dishes i make using paneer viz., paneer butter masala, paneer burji, kadai paneer, paneer capsicum masala, paneer sticks. Paneer Noodles is just another noodle recipe with paneer cubes added in addition to vegetables. The goodness of paneer and the veggies goes into this noodle recipe and it's definitely a hit among toddlers and kids. Do try this recipe and share your valuable feedback. Paneer Gulab Jamun

It's the festival season here and i have started making gulab jamun a week prior to the festival just because i'm crazy about this particular sweet. I wanted to make it something special out of the ordinary so i went to make paneer gulab jamun. Though there were so many tempting ads going around in the TV for instant gulab jamun mix, i specifically ignored it all! Here it is guys! - tried and tested recipe of paneer gulab jamum. I have used home made paneer - recipe can be found at this link . Pulse the paneer in a mixer jar for 2-3 times and knead it along with milk powder, all purpose flour/wheat flour. I have used wheat flour in today's recipe. The dough is ready and make your favorite shapes for frying in oil. Then soak fried jamun's in warm sugar syrup.
