It can be paired with a wide variety of side dishes like paneer butter masala Rajma masala channa masala mix veg subzi broccoli potata curry Egg capsicum curry the classic Egg thokku Dal makhani Chicken gravy The art of making soft chapatis or rotis lies in how we prepare the dough. Hot Chocolate

I have some fond memories around hot chocolate drink. While i was working away from my home country, whenever i stepped into a coffee shop i was so reluctant to order any drinks from there. The reason is the coffee we get there is only black coffee unless and otherwise it is a frappuccino or a cappuccino or something of that sort, which is no way close to our filter coffee or the instant coffee we get here in chennai. One of my friend ordered hot chocolate for me and she said hot chocolate tastes close to bournvita and since then i order hot chocolate and really liked the flavor too. There were so many instant dry recipes for hot chocolate, however i always wanted to make it fresh and immediately be served. Here is one such recipe today for you. Ingredients: 1 cup of milk 2 tbsp fresh cream or malai 1 tsp of cocoa powder (sweetened or unsweetened) 1 or 2 tsp of sugar based on the cocoa powder used, or as per taste 1/2 tsp cocoa powder for dusting Steps: Add milk to ...

Egg in the basket

Egg in a hole or egg in the basket is nothing but fried egg cooked in the hole of a bread slice. I have to admit that this is my second attempt of making egg in a hole as my first try did not come out the way it should.  If you are from Chennai you would obviously hear this term "half boil" - and if you are a fan of half boil, then you would love this recipe for sure. Egg in the basket is a wholesome breakfast when served with a bowl of mixed fruits and a coffee - wow! This is my dream breakfast or brunch you would call it on a lazy sunday morning. All you need is a slice of bread or a waffle and one egg. You can season with salt, pepper and grated cheese which is totally optional. If serving for kids, do flip and cook. You can also find few of egg recipes here Egg puff Egg capsicum curry Egg thokku Loaded Veggie Omlette Egg Fried Rice Tangy Egg Gravy Ingredients: 1 bread slice 1 Egg a pinch of salt a pinch of black pepper powder 1 tsp melted but...

Rose Face pack

Natural face packs can be homemade and absolutely free from any chemicals. Home grown papaya, pomegranate peel, paneer rose plant(damask rose) have a variety of health benefits. The damask rose or the paneer rose as we call it, have a huge list of recipes that could made using it. Paneer water or rose water, rose essence, rose milk, rose syrup, rose face pack are to name a few. I would highly recommend to go for this rose facial pack atleast two times a week to get a glowing skin. To see immediate results, you can use it for 3 consecutive days and see the glow on your cheek bone - you will start getting compliments from your friends and family. The face pack can be mixed with thick milk or yogurt or honey or just plain water and made into a paste. Then apply it on your face and neck region. Massage your face and neck for minute, this also serves as a facial scrub. You will see visible results in just 2-3 days of usage. Do give it a try and share your valuable feedback. You can a...

Casatta Ice Cream

Cakes and Ice creams - who can say no to any of these two? And a dessert made using both cake and ice creams  - i would not trade off any other desserts for this one! Here is a tried and tested recipe from my kitchen for you guys. Hope you make this casatta at your home and enjoy it! I have used three flavors for the recipe -Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate ice creams. More flavors can be added too. A simple sugar syrup is used for today's recipe. You could also use orange juice or any other juice instead. The taste is better when served immediately or within two days of preparation since it has got cake slices it would loose it's texture and flavor beyond two or three days in freezer. If you have come to read about this recipe, then you may also like to know about few of my favorite dessert recipes. Do check it out here.
