Chicken uppu kari which literally translates to chicken salt curry is quite simple to make with the least of ingredients from your kitchen pantry. This is somewhat similar to pallipalayam chicken as it  uses onions and dry red chillies as one of the important ingredients but it does have its mild variations here and there. And ofcourse, there is a difference in the taste too. This particular dish goes well with south indian tiffin items like idli, dosa, poori,roti and also be best complemented with white rice or rasam rice. It can also go into tortilla wrap, options are endless! Ingredients: 500 gms of chicken 2 large onions,finely  chopped 6-7 dry red chillies 3 sprig curry leaves 1 tbsp cooking oil 2 tsp fennel seeds 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1 tsp black pepper corns 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp + 1/2 tsp turmeric powder rock salt as per taste 1 tsp garam masala powder Steps: Add a tsp of turmeric powder to chicken pieces and coat them well...

Moringa leaves juice

Moringa leaves have lots and lots of health benefits.This particular leaf is packed with full of nutrients that helps the body to absorb more iron and supplies vitamins too. The leaves when consumed raw curbs your appetite whilst not compromising your nutritional intake as it provides your body with necessary nutrients for a given day. I personally experienced it after having this juice as the first drink in the morning. I did not feel hungry and my stomach was upset too. It just flushed out the toxins from body especially the stomach since it is bloated forever after my postpartum. I usually have hunger prangs every morning but today i did not want to eat anything for breakfast at all and needless to say i felt so refreshed and not giddy at all. Butter Garlic Prawns

Prawns are one of the seafood that gets cooked faster and can be made as a dish when you have less time in hand but still want to prepare a yummy food. I had only 10 minutes to prepare a side dish for my today's lunch and had prawns in hand. So just tried this butter garlic prawns which turned out to be awesome.  You can also check other prawns/shrimp recipes here in my blog: shrimp biriyani capsicum shrimp shrimp masala stir fry shrimp  Ingredients: 8-9 medium sized prawns 4 garlic pods 2 tsp butter 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves a pinch of turmeric salt to taste Steps: Clean and wash the prawns. Heat a pan on medium flame and add butter. Add finely chopped garlic and saute for a minute. Then add the prawns. Add a pinch of turmeric powder. Add salt. Stir fry till the prawns are thoroughly cooked. Here you can see the prawns have shrinked in size. And slightly browned on both sides. Finally add chopped coriander leaves. Raagi Halwa

Raagi is most commonly used in my kitchen, atleast thrice a week for breakfast. I developed a liking for raagi during my pregnancy phase and it still going on strongly! I have habituated my kids to raagi breakfast recipes too - it's a win win situation for me and my kids. Apart from the breakfast scenes, i had made halwa today using raagi milk.
